Want To Show Your Employees Appreciation? Try Doing These 4 Things

Employee Appreciation Day comes and goes once a year, but we strive to recognize and celebrate our employees every day. Here are some of our favorite ways to show the love to employees every day of the year!

Make sure they take some time off

Just because employees get vacation time, doesn’t mean they use it! Encourage your team to take vacations and use their time off. Not only will they receive some much-needed relaxation, they’ll come back to the office more productive and motivated.

Recognize the little things

While employees love to receive annual awards or get showered with praise during an annual review, it’s the little daily encouragements that really add up. Take the time to walk around the office and recognize the efforts that your employees put in every day.

Do something totally out of the blue

You would be surprised at how much difference a little random act can boost employee morale! Try implementing “Waffle Wednesdays” or buy the team pizza one day. Even something as seemingly insignificant as an informal out of the box brainstorming session can get people out of their shells and excite about their jobs. These everyday surprises make your employees feel cared for and appreciated, with minimal effort!

Take your team building out of the office

As much as people may love their jobs, it’s always good to get away from the office once in a while! Take off a couple hours early on Friday to go to Happy Hour or even mini golfing. Schedule an outing at a baseball game or even an escape room. Not only will this help your employees feel refreshed, it gives them the opportunity to get to know one another (and you!) even better in an informal setting.

No matter how you choose to show your appreciation for your team, it’s important to do it often. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday business and forget to acknowledge those who truly move your organization forward.
